Property Description

County records indicate this multistory historic home is a 5-bedroom 3-bath. The seller currently shows the original 1883 Goldstein Home residing on the original Belding/Hewitt Estate as a 4 bed 2.5 bath. Do you need 5, 6 or 7 bedrooms? Worried about furnishing such a big home with unique antiques? Do you need an in-law home/ADU or rental income? This downtown yet secluded estate is FOR SALE. Bed & Breakfast, Air B&B, venue…??? Buy the whole 4-parcel estate $950K. Just want the big house with 2 parcels (nearly an acre)-$695K. This historic home looks to be a massive 2 story but that would dismiss the dumbwaiter accessible basement which is part of downtown Oroville's historic tunnel system. It would also dismiss the partially finished full height 300+ sf attic & the roof access to the widow's walk & the best views in town! Craftsman finishes like 7' French doors, crown moldings, classic wainscoting w/ chair-rail, vintage floors, ready for the Queen's decent staircase, multiple fireplaces, claw-foot tub, tall tank toilet, with marble, granite, porcelain throughout, tall ceilings, multi-use rooms, formal dining, study, master suite, & grand entrance. YES! There are features you must see –1940's O'Keefe & Merit gas stove, coffered/embossed ceilings, mirrored carrara marble loo with a 1796 pillbox toilet, vintage 6' double hung windows, original pocket doors & beautiful exterior w/ entertainment-oriented landscaping (fountain, fire pit, barbeque area, Bocce Ball court, pergola)+pool. The estate comes with a grand story and lots of history.
